Bourne Energy; one of our fellow Eco friendly companies, believes that the solution to our energy demand isn’t massive generators, but small generators which harness power from natural sources like rivers and other moving bodies of water.
The new power modules from RiverStar work by collecting kinetic energy from the flow of the rivers water. The slow spinning turbine claims to not harm surrounding aquaculture. The units are small in size and can be mass produced at low costs. The great part of the modules is that they do not require construction on the rivers to implement them.
We won’t be able to tell how well these modules work and if they really do not affect the eco system of rivers until they are time tested. Unlike solar power which does not work when the sun goes down, these modules produce energy as long as the river is flowing. Hope to see these guys in action soon.
